IAS officer BM Vijayashankar Died Today
IAS officer BM Vijayashankar has been accused of committing suicide in the IMA multi-crore scam .
Vijay Shankar committed suicide at home when everyone went to a show on Tuesday. In Bangalore at around 8 pm on Tuesday night at his residence in Jayanagar, Bangalore. M. Vijay Shankar (59) committed suicide by hanging himself. Police have visited the spot. No response was received when the homeowner attempted to contact them. He had then informed the police. When the police arrived, they saw that they had for investigation. They were found to have committed suicide by hanging in their residence.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday registered a third FIR, naming IAS officer B M Vijay Shankar, suspended assistant commissioner L C Nagaraj and a village accountant named Manjunath in the multi-crore IMA scam. Shankar, former deputy commissioner, Bengaluru Urban, and Nagaraj, former assistant commissioner, Bengaluru North, are accused of accepting “illegal gratification” from the directors of the IMA Group through Manjunath. The CBI had sought permission from the government to prosecute Vijay Shankar. The government has allowed the investigation to claim suicide. The name of Vijay Shankar, the Bangalore district collector, was heard in the IMA scam. Vijay Shankar had given clean chit to Ruwari Mansoor of the IMA scandal in one case when he was a DC in Bangalore. He was jailed on the charge of the case.
