Russia Prime Minister tests Covid Positive: Mikhail Mishustin got Coronovirus Positive:

Mikhail Mishustin Tests Covid 19 Positive

Russia Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin tests positive for Covid 19. Russia has reported a record daily rise in the number of confirmed coronavirus cases, a day after Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin announced he had been diagnosed with the new virus and was temporarily stepping down to recover.

Speaking during a videoconference with President Vladimir Putin that was broadcast Thursday on state-run Rossiya 24 television, Mishustin — who took over as prime minister from Dmitry Medvedev in January — told Putin that he had tested positive for the virus.

Mishustin, who had been one of the main co-ordinators of Russia’s response to the new coronavirus, was the first high-ranking Russian official to publicly say they have the virus.

Mikhail Mishustin told putin that it has just now became known that the coronavirus test I gave came back positive.I have to observe self-isolation and follow orders of doctors,” he said. This is necessary to protect my colleagues. Mishustin, whose role as head of government is considerably less powerful than Putin’s, nominated his deputy, Andrey Belousov, to take over as acting prime minister, a recommendation that Putin approved by decree.

Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin (born 3 March 1966) is a Russian economist and politician serving as Prime Minister of Russia since 16 January 2020. He previously served as Director of the Federal Tax Service from 2010 to 2020.

He was nominated for Prime Minister of the Russian Federation by President Vladimir Putin on 15 January 2020, following the resignation of Dmitry Medvedev. Hearings on his appointment were held in the State Duma on 16 January, and he was confirmed to the office that day.

On 1 April, Mishustin and the Minister of Communications Maxut Shadayev announced creating a system of tracking quarantine violation based on data of mobile network operators. Violators will receive a text message, and if they breach it systematically, the information will be sent to the police.

On 30 April, Mishustin tested positive for COVID-19. Mishustin confirmed his test results in a video-conference with President Vladimir Putin, and nominated his deputy to take over for him as acting Prime Minister. Putin signed a decree to that effect, appointing Andrey Belousov to the role on an acting basis, following Mishustin’s recommendation. Mishustin’s diagnosis makes him the most high-profile political figure in Russia to contract the coronavirus.
