The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) corporator from Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) Mukund Keni (58) died of coronavirus.
“Keni had gone to a hospital to assist a Covid-19 positive patient and two days later he developed symptoms such as fever. Initially, he was admitted to a private hospital in Thane, but later was shifted to Mumbai after he tested Covid-19 positive.
Keni, who was the corporator of Kalwa, breathed his last on Tuesday night. He is survived by his wife Pramila Keni, son, daughter-in-law, and grandsons.
Mukund Keni, NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) corporator from Kalwa under Thane Municipal Corporation, succumbed to coronavirus at the age of 58 on June 9 in Mumbai.
Earlier on Tueday, a 55-year-old Shiv Sena corporator from Mira-Bhayandar Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra’s Thane district died of COVID-19. The deceased had tested positive for coronavirus a week ago and was on ventilator support at a hospital in Thane city.
Keni had tested positive for coronavirus 14 days ago and was put on ventilator support at a private hospital in Mumbai. He is survived by by his wife Pramila Keni, son, daughter-in-law and grandsons.
Meanwhile, at least 555 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in Maharashtra’s Thane district on Tuesday, taking the tally in the region to 12,353.
He was suffering from comorbid conditions such as diabetes and blood sugar and was put on a ventillator support the day he was admitted to the private hospital in Mumbai,” said an NCP worker.
According to a release, of the 555 fresh cases reported on Tuesday, 145 persons tested positive in Thane city, followed by 92 in Mira-Bhayandar, 89 in Navi Mumbai and 68 in Kalyan-Dombivli civic limits.
