Covid-19 victim Hari singh, the owner of the famous Iruttu Kadai Halwa, has committed suicide.

Sources said it was a death by suicide. A resident of Thiruneveli town, Singh had fever and breathlessness since yesterday and was taken to a private nursing home in Perumalpuram.
Yesterday evening, his sample was taken to test for Coronavirus and today at 12.30 pm, the result came as positive. Hari Singh committed suicide in Tirunelveli on Thursday.The 70-year-old was found hanging in the room of a private hospital where he had been undergoing treatment for the last two days. His son-in-law also tested positive for Covid-19.
“Around noon, he was found hanging,” deputy commissioner of police for Tirunelveli city (law and order) S Saravanan told News Channels.
The news plunged Thirunelveli town into grief as the Iruttu Kadai halwa shop, which has been functioning for centuries was a synonym for the town with the delicacy being known around the globe.
