Cristiano Ronaldo ( born 5 February 1985) is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as a forward for Serie A club Juventus and captains the Portugal national team. Often considered the best player in the world and widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Ronaldo has won five Ballon d’Or awards and four European Golden Shoes, both of which are records for a European player.

He has won 31 major trophies in his career, including seven league titles, five UEFA Champions Leagues, one UEFA European Championship, and one UEFA Nations League title. Ronaldo holds the records for the most goals (134) and assists (41) in the history of the UEFA Champions League.

He is one of the few recorded players to have made over 1,000 professional career appearances and has scored over 770 senior career goals for club and country.He is also the second male to score 100 international goals and the first European man to achieve the feat.

Ronaldo has four children. He first became a father to a son, Cristiano Jr., born on 17 June 2010 in the United States. He stated that he has full custody of the child and would not be publicly revealing the identity of the mother as per agreement with her.In January 2015, Ronaldo announced his five-year relationship with Russian model Irina Shayk had ended.

Ronaldo then became father to twins, daughter Eva and son Mateo, born on 8 June 2017 in the United States via surrogacy.He is in a relationship with Spanish model Georgina Rodríguez, a former shop assistant, who gave birth to their daughter Alana Martina, on 12 November 2017.

Ronaldo’s father, José, died of an alcoholism-related liver condition at age 52 in September 2005 when Ronaldo was 20.Ronaldo has said that he does not drink alcohol, and he received libel damages over a Daily Telegraph article that reported him drinking heavily in a nightclub while recovering from an injury in July 2008.[He also does not have any tattoos as he regularly donates blood and bone marrow. His mother, Dolores, was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2007 but eventually recovered.

On 13 October 2020, the Portuguese Football Federation announced that Ronaldo tested positive for COVID-19 while being asymptomatic. By 30 October, Ronaldo had recovered.
